Frederick aligns entrepreneurship, integrity and financing with the law.  Fred is the Senior Counsel responsible for Entrepreneurial and Corporate Solutions within McLaughlins Lawyers.

Fred is a solicitor (attorney-at-law) of high intelligence and resilience who is a confidential senior advisor and a trustworthy private representative.

Fred acts for notable entrepreneurs, international groups and companies sourcing investment funds.  He prepares projects and companies for capital raising at all stages up to, and including, listing on Australian recognised stock exchanges. Fred also advises on acquisitions, corporate control transactions, buy-backs and exits.  Fred has deep industry knowledge and experience in mineral exploration, resource development and related infrastructure, mining and metallurgy, energy, aviation and early stage innovation companies.  Fred has cross-cultural experience, of working as a leader of interdisciplinary teams and in dealing with the highest levels of government officials.

Fred respects entrepreneurs. He understands the importance of working at speed in a collaborative way to deliver commercial results.  Fred most enjoys finding solutions with the effect that his clients have the joy of large upside with excellent protection from the downside risk to gain asymmetric profit.  Fred generates concepts. When required, Fred project manages all steps of execution in co-ordination with other McLaughlins team members, collaborating with the client’s regular lawyers, accountants, investment bankers, tax specialists, environmental specialists and strategy advisors. He brings to bear his insights in solving otherwise intractable disputes in conjunction with the McLaughlins litigation team and outside counsel.

Fred has an educational background at a standard of distinction (University of New South Wales, BComm (Finance)/LLB), as well as further studies in mineral economics and corporate finance. Fred’s historical roles all included a large emphasis on legal-related  work, and embraced an Australian family office, Rio Tinto Group (Country Director), Eurasia Capital Management (Investment Director), Multiplex Mining (Country Director), Andersen (Head of Corporate Finance Central Asia and Caucasus), and Hartleys (Corporate Finance).  Fred is grateful for his professional background as a solicitor at the elite Sydney law firm Rosenblum and Partners (admitted as a solicitor in 1993).
