Recent attendance at Southern Chamber of Commerce breakfast

Ian Kennedy, McLaughlins Lawyers Consultant and past president of the Southport Chamber of Commerce, attended the Southern Chamber of Commerce breakfast networking recently. The speakers were Mayor Tom Tate and new City of Gold Coast CEO Tim Baker.

Tim Baker summarised the Strategic Plan for the City which is available on the Council website.

Ian in the ‘Q and A’ asked Tim when the Council Chambers and Administration offices would move to Southport and the response was that the location in the future of all council staff is being reviewed with a preference for them to be housed together – which doesn’t sound promising for Southport as the ultimate destination.

In good news Ian won a family pass to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary in the raffle (see below image).
