Preparing for Aged Care Presentation Summary

Lawyers from the Burleigh Heads office of McLaughlins Lawyers held a free presentation on “Planning for Aged Care” for clients and members of the general public at the Burleigh Heads Bowls Club on Tuesday this week.

The presentation was well attended by clients, bowls club members, and interested members of the public.

The focus of the presentation was the importance of having wills and enduring powers of attorney in place and updating those wills and powers of attorney particularly as you prepare to enter into any form of aged care accommodation.

We also highlighted some of the issues for consideration in agreements for leasehold or freehold retirement homes in relation to which you should get advice from a lawyer.

Berenice Wadham, Placement Consultant of Aged Care Assistance Placement Consultancy, was our special guest presenter and spoke about the process involved in seeking appropriate aged care.
