Managing Partner is going to ‘sleep out’ in the middle of winter

Managing Partner at McLaughlins Lawyers, Ian Kennedy, is preparing to sleep out in the middle of winter to raise much needed funds for the many homeless people doing it tough on the Gold Coast.

The Vinnies CEO Sleepout is a national event which raises vital funds for the delivery of Vinnies “good works” in our local community.  Last year alone Gold Coasters raised more than $75,000 for homeless services.

The Vinnies CEO Sleepout Gold Coast will be held on Thursday 23 June at CBUS Super Stadium. All funds raised will stay right here on the Coast with funds going to a) Families Back on Track (FBOT) and b) implementation of a ‘drop in’ centre to supply support and agency connections for some of the 4,000 homeless on the Coast.

In addition to Ian, other executives involved include Mark Peters, Soheil Abedian, Rebecca Frizelle, Max Christmas, Col Wheeler, Scott Prince, Rob Molhoek, Andrew Bell, Cath Webber & Michael Pulford.

More than 50 per cent of homeless are victims of domestic violence, children under the age of 18 or people with mental health issues.

The staff at McLaughlins are donating funds to the cause and in return get to wear free dress every Friday until the Sleepout. The staff are also plotting to build a cardboard bed for Ian made out of materials they can find around the office.
