Gayna was admitted in NSW more years ago than she cares to admit to, and spent the better part of a decade at a top tier firm in Sydney in the commercial property section, during which time she gained experience in all forms of general property matters, including conveyancing, licensing and leasing of all types.  In her later years with this firm she managed the team for the leasing and related matters (such as due diligences) for a major telecommunications company.

 

During her years in Sydney she also did a stint in the Attorney General's department developing her knowledge of property law further and working on some prominent commonwealth issues of the time such as the Airport Noise Project and the resumption of land for a second Sydney Airport (Sydney's still waiting!).

 

Eventually, she and her husband and two children saw the light and moved to the sunshine state where Gayna worked in the Brisbane office of the same top tier firm for some time before securing a position at one of the Gold Coast's most prominent commercial property firms; initially being involved in an extensive range of commercial property matters of all types and complexity and thereafter becoming Head of Leasing.  In this capacity she acted on a wide variety of complex leasing matters of all types for developments in Queensland, many of which are on the Gold Coast and on the North coast of NSW.  These developments included off the plan leasing for industrial parks, commercial offices and retail space.

 

Our Commercial and Property Division, has extensive experience in many facets of Property Law and Commercial Law including:-

• Commercial Leasing and all aspects of legal portfolio management on behalf of a number of high-end property owners for both commercial and retail properties, which include Brisbane and Gold Coast CBD office buildings, retail shopping centres and factory/showroom premises.
• Ancillary services with respect to leasing, including Property Management Agreements and the ongoing development of relevant documentation.

 

• Large scale commercial property disposals and acquisitions in the Brisbane and Gold Coast CBDs of an aggregated value in excess of $500 million, including all aspects of contract preparation, legal due diligence and completion.

 

• Residential, body corporate and commercial subdivisions and developments, including:-

 

• Registration of survey plans, preparation of ancillary documents including easements and covenants and liaising with Local Authorities on all subdivision town planning aspects in both Queensland and New South Wales;

 

• Establishing Bodies Corporate and acting on behalf of Principal Bodies Corporate within layered schemes;

 

• Preparation of Agreements to Lease and Leases for commercial and retail developments.

 

• Joint Ventures with respect to property development and corporate enterprises.

 

• Corporate structuring including establishment of companies, trust deeds, shareholders agreements and unitholders agreements.

 

• Business sales and acquisitions.
• Franchising.
