Creation of a New Child and Family Legal Office

The Department of Communities has created the office of the Child and Family Official Solicitor, which will commence from 1 July 2016.

This office will provide early, independent legal advice to child safety workers about child protection matters while improving the court process for children’s matters.

The creation of this office will allow vulnerable children and families to receive quality services from a highly skilled, capable and professional workforce thereby ensuring that the well being of the children and families most at risk, is looked after.
