Firm History

Founded in 1958 by Frank McLaughlin, the firm quickly established a reputation for providing leading edge commercial advice and competent and aggressive litigation services dedicated to meeting client needs in a timely and cost effective manner.

McLaughlins has since its foundation provided cutting edge legal services. By way of example, Frank McLaughlin handled legal matters for Kinkabool, the first high-rise apartment building on the Gold Coast, at a time when there were no legal rights to ownership of units that were "floating in the air". The firm has continued that tradition of providing innovative solutions in commercial law matters.

The firm was then known as McLaughlin, Gordon and Lennon and practiced under that name from the 1960's until 1992 when the name was changed to McLaughlins Solicitors.

The firm has consolidated and built on its strong commercial law base, and in recent years developed a reputation as a litigation specialist, particularly in personal injuries and general litigation and insolvency.

The firm is proud of its history and the values for which it stands and is proud to be part of the Gold Coast community. The partners and professional staff are involved in and support a wide range of community organisations as part of the commitment of the firm to the area which it serves.
